- Copright Notice:
- Portions (C) Microsoft Corporation
- One Microsoft Way, Redmond WA 98052
-
- Microsoft Corporation holds the copyright to the following files
- which are distributed with the StreamWorks (tm) software:
-
- DCISVGA.DRV
- DCIMAN.DLL
-
- DCISVGA.DRV and DCIMAN.DLL are part of Microsoft's
- Video for Windows 1.1D distribution, and are
- redistributed without royalty under the terms of
- the VFW binary distribution license agreement.
-
- Introduction:
-
- DCI capability is able to enhance video throughtput
- performance for some video adapters.
-
- DCISVGA.DRV provides basic DCI primary surface support
- for several popular SVGA graphics chips/cards.
- The following graphics chips/cards are supported by DCISVGA.DRV:
-
- TSENG ET4000
- Video Seven HT208, HT209
- Video Seven VRAM
- Cirrus GD5424, GD5426, GD5428
- ATI Wonder
- Western Digital 90C30, 90C31
- S3 86C801
- ATI 68800
- older cards from Oak, and Trident
-
- If you have one of the above graphics chips/cards,
- you may try using DCISVGA.DRV as the DCI primary surface provider.
-
- If you do not have one of the above graphics chips/cards, please
- do not use DCISVGA.DRV; instead, please contact your graphics
- vendor for a DCI provider that is appropriate to your chip/card.
-
- Installation:
-
- The SETUP program for StreamWorks (tm) will install the two DCI
- files if your system has no DCI drivers previously installed.
- As an alternative, and for purposes of your understanding of
- the DCI installation, the section "Manual Installation" is provided.
-
- Manual Installation:
-
- DCISVGA.DRV and DCIMAN.DLL should be copied into
- the \windows\system subdirectory, and SYSTEM.INI
- should be edited in the [drivers] section to
- add the line:
-
- DCI=DCISVGA.DRV
-
- We have successfully tested this DCI driver under
- Win 3.11 and WFW when using the default SVGA 256-color
- drivers. We don't know how it will work in other
- configurations. If you modify XMPLAYER.INI to support
- DCI, and you see no video during playback, WNETVIEW's
- probably not compatible with DCISVGA on your system.
-
- There are DCI drivers available from various VGA card
- manfacturers which will signficantly enhance the
- performance and quality of software MPEG playback -
- please check with your VGA manufacturer for availability.
